Comparing American Airlines and (New Merged) United Airlines

Being a top elite member at both American and United/Continental Airlines and having flown over 250,000 miles last year on them, I feel that I have a good grasp about the differences that have in their loyalty program and their flight experience.  The new combine United Airlines has a more extensive route-map out of all the US carriers and is the biggest airline after dethroning the merged Delta-Northwest Airlines.  American Airlines is in the middle of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy so it will be interest to see what happens the next 2 years.
