All Nippon Airways First Class lounge at NRT
I was greeted when I arrived at the ANA lounge where
the Business Side was to the left and the Suites (First) to the right. The Suites lounge was pretty nice with a good
selection of food offering. The lounge
was small than the United one and the Business Center had 4 work stations. There was a noodle bar available and a
smoking room as well (I think). The best
part was the personal room section where there were several cubicles for use to
watch TV, the use the computer, or listen to music.
As soon as I arrived, I was given a hot towel and guided to my section of the lounge area. I was offered a choice of drink (I requested orange juice) and my attendant took my order for a bowl of noodle soup. The buffet offerings were Salisbury steak, grilled fish, sushi, rice balls, and soups. The dessert options were good as well (ice cream, cakes, fruits, and cookies). They even had a currency exchange machine available for use as well. The view of the tarmac was pretty good as well and I could see my Boeing 777-300 plane at gate 51 waiting for boarding and takeoff.
I thought the ANA Suites lounge was nice (similar to the Asiana one experienced a few days earlier) and ahead of the ones we have in the US, but not as nice as the Lufthansa or Thai Airways. It would have been nice to have been escorted to the plane by one of the several attendants or golf cart (not necessary on this flight since the lounge is close to Gate 51). The Suites check in was pretty nice though and American Airlines has taken this same approach with the Flagship check-in/security at LAX (and also expanding to other hubs soon).

After walking around the First Class lounge and getting my fill,
I decided to take a quick look at the business section as well. While the food offerings were a little less
than the other side, the noodle bar was available. This section was quite spacious and had a
very open feel to it. There was even a
sake bar available for passengers to enjoy.
It is better than the ones we have in the US in the terms of foods and
amenities available.
