I was excited to see that I was flying on a Star
Alliance logo Boeing 767 (first time flying on any alliance logo plane) so it made the
ride extra special. It featured the
regional business class with cradle seats which were comfortable but is not
something I would want to sleep in on a medium or long haul flight. There were 15 seats available and arranged
2-1-2 similarly to the old continental BusinessFirst planes serving HNL. Only 5 passengers were in Business Class. The flight attendant suggested that I sit in
3F for the fight so that I would be more comfortable with having a seat next to
me to place my belongings.
We took off a little late and waited a while for
traffic control to clear us for takeoff.
The crew was very friendly and they bowed at the beginning for the
flight. We were given the menus and a
pre-departure beverage of water or orange juice. The purser did come by to welcome me and
handed me the menus for the flight. We
were also offered slippers and headphones so I started watching John English
Reborn, ate my dinner and managed to finish it (I had to watch the ending again
since I dozed off).
For dinner, I had Western option of the beef brochette served over pasta (which was pretty good) served with Korean rice wine (Makegeolli). Dessert was Red Bean Bean Panna Cotta and also had a plate of fruit and cheese as well. The service was very good and a smile was given every time a crew member came by my seat. The arrival into Incheon was awesome as it was still dark outside. I had an orange juice waiting for me when I woke right before the arrival. The service was outstanding and I would love to fly Asiana on a longhaul flight one day.

The other Western Option for dinner was Grilles Sole served with hot spicy sauce and vegetables over steamed rice. The Korean options were: Chestnust & Jujube (starter), Shrimp and Broccoli Porridge (main), fresh fruit (dessert) and traditional Korean cookies.
